What the Atlas shows

The Atlas is a grid of every region against every era. Each cell tracks how well you place events from that combination, and fills in as your mastery of it climbs. Cells you have not played stay empty — the Atlas shows what you have earned, not what you have attempted.

How mastery is measured

Mastery is a rolling measure of accuracy rather than a count of rounds, so it reflects how you are placing events now, not how many you have played. Harder events count for more. Climbing a tier takes consistent accuracy across a region and era, which is why the Atlas fills slowly and means something when it does.

Accuracy and calibration

Beyond mastery, two measures describe how you actually guess: your average miss, in kilometres and in years, and your calibration — how often the answers you marked “sure” turned out to be right. Knowing what you know is a separate skill from knowing it.
