Geo Drills — countries, capitals, flags, states & provinces

A map quiz that actually sticks: drill the world in short sessions and let spaced repetition bring each one back right before you would have forgotten it.

What you can drill

Geo Drills is the learn-the-map half of Terra Tempus, split into packs you pick from: world and per-continent country sets, capital cities, national flags, and the states, provinces and other first-level subdivisions of individual countries. Two ways to answer each item: Locate, where you are given a name, a flag or a capital and have to find it on the map, and Name, where you are shown the place and either pick from choices or type the answer yourself. Typing is the harder and more useful of the two.

How the drilling works

Each pack tracks every item you have seen and schedules it by spaced repetition, so something you got right yesterday will not waste your time today, and something you fumbled comes back soon. A pack shows how many items are due right now, so a session can be as short as clearing what is owed. If you would rather race, Speedrun mode takes the whole pack against the clock; Lives ends the run after three misses and Minefield ends it on the first.

Why it is worth playing

Knowing where countries actually are is the foundation the rest of the game rests on — the history rounds get dramatically easier once the map is in your head rather than on your screen. Drills need no account to start and nothing is timed unless you ask for it. If you would rather guess history, try the Daily Challenge or Region & Era Play.
